In the first 3 weeks after giving birth I dropped 20-25lbs (I can't remember exactly). It just melted off. I am breastfeeding so the possibility that I was helped by that is very well possible. It took another 3 months for the final 12lbs to go away. I was too afraid to exercise as I heard that it can cause problems with your supply (yes I know other sources say it wont), I didn't want to chance it. This past month something happened hormonally and even though I exclusively breastfeed I started my period, began loosing my hair (hello scalp!) and lost an additional 5lbs.
Now I have to be honest again, since mid-March I have been on a strict diet. I have been top 8 allergen free and gluten free. For almost 6 weeks I ate turkey, quinoa, zucchini, potatoes, rice, bananas, blueberries, raisins, carrots, avocado, olive oil and salt and pepper. This helped me I realize in loosing the last 10lbs. I am starting to eat a greater variety of things such as chicken, beef (oh wonderful beef), olives, salad dressing and much more while still staying free of the top 8 and gluten. Addie it turned out in the beginning was a bit sensitive to certain foods and going on the diet made her a lot happier. The doctor thinks she might have Colitis which is causing some of the trouble and as she gets older things seem to be getting better.
I am not done loosing weight. I want to be 130lbs. I know that is a better weight for me. I also want to be in shape so that I can keep up with Addie as she gets older. I also want to fit into the jeans I wore when my husband and I first met and so I hope 130 gets me there. To aid myself in reaching this new goal I have started walks/jogs. I bought a C25k program for my iPod and a jogging stroller. I hate running. I want to be healthier though, and well, as many women know even when you are at the weight you once saw on the scale before baby you still don't look like you once did. Everything is kind of wider. Except my ass. . . my ass is flatter. I don't get that, I barely had one to start with and now it is gone.
Oh, I never did get that trainer. I still would have loved one though. Below are a few photos of me along the way.
